Since its release in early 2018, the Smith & Wesson .380 Shield EZ has been praised as an excellent self-defense and concealed carry pistol for new shooters, small-statured females, and anyone with below average grip strength. The slide serrations allow for easy racking, while the loaded chamber indicator on the top of the slide adds another level of safety to those handling it. The .380 Shield EZ doesn‚t have a manual thumb safety but does feature a backstrap safety, requiring those handling it to have a strong grip on their firearm to fire it.
