The U.S. Rifle Cal .30 M1, or M1 Garand, is a gas-operated, semi-automatic rifle from Springfield Armory firing .30-06 Springfield ammo from eight-round en bloc clips, known for its iconic "ping" as the empty clip ejects, its simple field stripping, and its role as America's first standard-issue semi-auto rifle. This Rifle was manufactured in 1943 but the barrel is stamped with S-A-10-51 indicating the barrel was replaced in 1951
