Description:
UNFIRED S&W DA 4th Model .38 Revolver C.1900-1907
Offered here for sale and just acquired is this original SCARCE UNFIRED vintage Smith & Wesson 5th model double action .38 revolver. A top break model with 3" barrel, this specimen retains all of its finish, 100% case colors on trigger and minty factory hard rubber grips. Mint bore. Untouched screw heads. Serial number 245845.
Smith & Wesson produced a series of .38 S&W Double-Action top-break revolvers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in multiple “models” (1st through 5th) before the era of the modern hand-ejector “Military & Police” type.
Serial number 245845 with  3″ top-break .38 DA was  made sometime in the first decade of the 1900s — very likely around ~1900–1907. An UNFIRED specimen, in  excellent untouched condition, 100% finish, mint bore, and hard rubber grips is unusually high quality for a gun of this age and an exceptional addition to ANY collection-especially in a Smith & Wesson collection.
