 A Very Early & Scarce First Model U.S. Military Model 1865 Allin Conversion Breech loading Rifle In Fine Untouched Condition. All original & complete, made in 1865. it was designed by "Erskine S. Allin, Master Armorer at Springfield Armory. There were 5,000 made from the Model 1861 Percussion Musket. The rifle has fine metal & markings. The lock and top of breeck still retains lots of their original color on it. The rest of the metal on the gun is in the bright. The rifle has fine plus wood throughout with a very nice color to it. It has nice edges throughout. It has a very fine bore and action in it. "There are two clear U.S. Inspectors Marks" on the backside of the wood. This Is A Fine Example Of A Scarce Very Early First Model U.S. Military Model 1865 Allin Conversion Breech Loading Rifle!
