If you consider the fact that they made 5 times more 12-gauge guns than 16-gauge guns, and almost 3 times as many 20-gauge guns than 16’s, then a Tournament Skeet Grade in 16 gauge becomes a rare find in a Model 21.  This gun, with its factory 26” barrels, matches the factory order sheet, other than some obvious treatment to the buttstock.  The owner of this gun loved the way it shot enough to have a second set of barrels made to add to its versatility.  The 28” 16-gauge barrels fit as if they were from the factory, but they are not marked as such.  Both sets of barrels retain 98% of their blue and mirror bores.  The action of this gun is solid and locks up tight on hinge and tight on face with either set of barrels.  The beautiful walnut stock has wavy grain and some fiddleback. This Winchester Tournament gun has been fitted with a Purdey style leather pad, Purdey pads give just the right amount of grip when shouldered but also allows for the butt to slip into place. If you would like to replace the pad with a Winchester red, pad Vintage Firearms can fit one for you, it would take about a week to complete, please call to discuss. The classic good looks of the Model 21 are timeless. This versatile setup in 16 gauge has just what you need for the field or the sporting clays course to stand out from the crowd.
