Description:
Cogswell & Harrison assisted opener side-plated BLE with 2 1/2" chambers. 30" barrels. Choked right IC and left Full. Minimum wall thickness 0.030” left and 0.029” right. 15" LOP with 1-1/2" DAC and 2" DAH. Grooved butt. Condition is good to very good as period refinished with fine bright bores. Screw heads are clean and properly timed. Engraving is sharp. Mechanically fine. Tight-on-face. Recent work by reputable and capable gunsmith: checkering re-traced and fore end repair.
This is a higher grade gun With an optional Anson and Deely pushrod fore-end release and decorative fore-end insert. The concave game rib has the Picadilly London showroom address. It opened in 1917. Introduced in 1906 by C&H, this is likely a Sandhurst model that was manufactured between the wars. The serial # is 56787.
