Description:
Serial #81097, .38 S&W, 3 ¼ inch round ribbed barrel with a fine bright bore with strong rifling and several scattered spots of moderate pitting. This is a Smith & Wesson 3rd Model Safety Hammerless revolver, aka "Lemon Squeezer" manufactured circa 1890-98 and was factory reworked in December of 1912 as marked on the frame. In excellent condition the barrel, frame and cylinder retain about 94-96% of the original factory nickel with scattered light flaking. The trigger-guard and latch show 90-95% of the original blue with the trigger having muted case-colors. The diamond checkered hard rubber factory grips feature S&W monograms rate near excellent with light flattening of the points and a 3/8" check forming on the butt of the right stock. The lock up is tight and it functions well mechanically. Antique
