Introduced during a period when shooters were rediscovering the appeal of lighter, faster-handling sporting guns, the Browning Citori Superlight was designed to deliver classic balance without sacrificing the legendary strength of the Citori action. Manufactured in 1986, this Grade I example reflects Browning’s philosophy of the era: practical elegance, mechanical longevity, and a gun built to be carried and shot—not just admired.
This firearm is a 20 gauge configuration with 26-inch barrels and a classic English (straight) stock and single trigger, a combination prized for its natural pointability and versatility in both upland and sporting applications. It includes two chokes; however, no choke wrench or choke notches are present to verify constriction. The gun is being offered as-is.
Cosmetically, this firearm presents at approximately 80%, showing honest signs of use consistent with a well-maintained game gun. There is a small dent on the right side of the fore-end and at the front of the right side of the stock, along with light finish scratches primarily on the left side. The stock finish itself remains in good condition, the checkering is intact and well-defined, and the bluing on both the barrels and receiver is in excellent shape. Some wear is visible on the underside of the stock at the trigger tang.
Mechanically, the gun rates an impressive 95%. The action locks up tightly, the trigger and controls are crisp, the ejectors are strong, and the bores show little to no wear—exceptionally bright and shiny.
This Citori Superlight represents a compelling blend of history, handling, and mechanical confidence—an authentic example of Browning craftsmanship from the mid-1980s that continues to deliver the performance and balance it was originally built for.
