The Browning Citori 825 Max Trap represents the modern evolution of one of the most respected competition shotgun lineages in history. Tracing its DNA back to John M. Browning’s legendary B25 Superposed, the Citori platform has long been known for strength, balance, and intuitive handling. The 825 advances that legacy with a lower-profile receiver, refined ergonomics, and an unprecedented level of adjustability designed specifically for serious trap shooters.
This brand-new 12 gauge over-and-under is configured with 32-inch barrels and an adjustable high-post rib, allowing the shooter to fine-tune point of impact from approximately 50/50 to 90/10. Built as a true turnkey competition gun, the 825 Max Trap offers comprehensive adjustability for drop, cast on/off, length of pull, trigger position, trigger shoe selection, and felt recoil. The integrated GraCoil recoil reduction system further allows shooters to tailor recoil management while also adjusting length of pull.
The low-profile receiver houses Browning’s renowned full-width hinge pin and tapered locking lug system, delivering exceptional durability and long-term reliability while lowering the bore axis for improved swing dynamics, reduced muzzle rise, and faster, more accurate follow-up shots. The receiver is finished with extensive deep-relief scroll engraving accented with silver, giving the Max Trap a refined yet aggressive competition aesthetic.
The stock and forearm are crafted from finely finished Grade V/VI walnut with a gloss oil finish. The adjustable Monte Carlo comb, vertical pistol grip with palm swell, and semi-beavertail forearm with finger grooves provide maximum control and consistency during long days on the trap line. Shooter interface refinements extend to redesigned controls, including a more ergonomic top lever, safety/selector, and an enlarged forearm latch for easier handling.
At the heart of the gun is the enhanced Fire Lite 2 mechanical trigger system, evolved from the proven Citori 725 design, offering lighter pull weights, improved consistency, and dependable performance even with lighter target loads. Recoil management is further improved by the Inflex II recoil pad, which directs recoil down and away from the shooter’s face while maintaining a smooth, snag-free mount.
This Citori 825 Max Trap includes five extended Invector-DS choke tubes, a HiViz Pro Comp front sight with ivory mid-bead, a Triple Trigger System with three interchangeable trigger shoes, and a Pachmayr Decelerator XLT recoil pad mounted on a Graco adjustable butt plate.
Length of pull is adjustable from 13.875 to 14.875 inches, with adjustable drop at comb and heel to ensure a precise, personalized fit.
