Description:
Manufactured in Brescia, Italy, Abbiatico & Salvinelli shotguns are
some of the world's finest made and were available on a custom order
basis only. The company (as Abbiatico & Salvinelli) ceased production
in 2012. Blued chopper lump barrels signed on the left barrel
"ABBIATICO & SALVINELLI" in gold, with a single steel bead sight on
the slightly concave solid rib, 3 inch chambers, ejectors, choked
modified/improved modified, and Italian nitro proofs dated 2006. The
French gray side lock action with removable firing pin bushings
features a very intricate, highly detailed bobwhite quail scene on the
bottom of the receiver and beautiful high contrast floral scroll
engraving covering the balance of the receiver, as well as 1 inch
flourishes of scroll extending onto each barrel. The break lever, trigger
guard, tangs and forearm hardware have the same fine floral scroll
patterns. The engraving is signed "M. Ghidini" to the right of the trigger
guard and each lock is gold inlaid with "ABBIATICO & SALVINELLI".
Also features a single trigger, rolled trigger guard, and tang mounted
manual safety. Mounted with an exceptionally finely figured straight
grip walnut stock and Anson push button forearm, multi-point
checkering with engraved inset fittings and teardrop flats, and
checkered bare butt. Includes a factory hardcase with screwdriver,
cased small parts (springs and firing pins), and documents including a
copy of an email from the factory about the gun and certificate. Stock
measurements: drop at comb 1 3/8 inches; drop at heel 2 inches;
length of pull 15 1/8 inches; weight 5 pounds 11 ounces.
Excellent overall as masterfully embellished by Ghidini
with 99% of the finishes remaining and a few scattered
light handling marks. The finely figured stock has very
minimal light handling and storage marks and crisp
checkering. Mechanically excellent.
