FOX Model B 410 Gauge Double Barrel C&R SHOTGUN Fantastic, Light & Popular Shotgun from the Mid to Late 1950s Here we present a Savage Arms Corporation Fox Model B Double Barrel Side by Side 12 Gauge Shotgun, made circa 1962 in Westfield, Massachusetts. Savage Arms purchased the A.H. Fox Company in November of 1929. They kept the A.H. Fox gun in production until America's entry into the Second World War, 1942 being the last year an A.H. Fox retail catalog appeared. However, back in the 1940's the Fox name had considerable market recognition, and in 1940 Savage capitalized on that by using the Fox name on a somewhat upscale version of their Stevens Model 311 side-by-side utility shotgun, which had been introduced in 1931. The resulting gun, named the Fox Model B. It was to be a long-lived model, remaining in the Savage line until rising manufacturing costs and the sale and reorganization of Savage Industries, Inc. (which became today's Savage Arms Company) caused it to be discontinued in 1988. This model has double triggers, one trigger for each barrel. The overall condition is fine. Original finish is preserved. Excellent action. Bright, smooth bores. This example sports a sold stock in fine shape with minimal handling wear. A scuff/drag line is present on the bottom of the buttstock at the heel. Markings are sharp. The frame is lightly engraved. Well-defined wrist and forend checkering. Overall a very nice shotgun for display or collecting! Own the original! This firearm is classified as Curio & Relic. Barrel is 26 inches.
