Description:
Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are right proud to offer this gorgeous example of a Marlin 1893, decked out in deluxe trim. The special order also included a longer barrel at 28 inches, being all octagonal, with a full length pre-ban magazine that holds 11 rounds. Made in the year of our Lord 1900, she is in good condition for being 126 years old. The blue on the barrel and magazine tube is fairly deep and dark. The receiver has silvered out, and the bore of the 32-40 chambered barrel is good, with plenty of shine and strong rifling. This is one of our favorite calibers, as it held long distance accuracy records for over 80 years. The action is smooth and crisp, and the half cock safety works as designed. The nicely figured select walnut is wonderful, with a fairly good fit to the steel and sharp checkering. These deluxe Marlins have really begun to get the recognition they deserve. When you look at value, you must consider the quantity of the model that was produced. All Marlin rifles shared the same serial number sequence. That includes the 1881, 1888, 1889, 1891, 1892, 1893, 1894, 1895, and 1897 models. Together, they only hit about 355,000 before they ran into bankruptcy in the early 1900's. When you compare that to the Winchester model 1894, which was made over 6 million times by itself, you can see why Marlins can be so valuable. If you have been looking for the right Marlin 1893 to collect, for investment, or an old fashioned hunt, but want the added clout of a special order deluxe, then look no further.
