This is a cased two line Hartford address Civil War Colt Model 1849 pocket revolver manufactured in 1862. It comes in an original Colt locking mahogany box with original Colt brass bullet mold, patriotic Colt powder flask, full Hazard powder Colt cartridge packet, combination Colt nipple wrench / screwdriver, and an original full tin of Eley Brothers metal line percussion caps. The revolver remains in very fine / near excellent condition with the barrel and cylinder showing about 60-65% bright blue finish flaking to gray with a crisp two line address marking the top facet and sharp detail on the wagon scene engraving. The address shows the broken die for the "L" in Colt and appears as "COIT" which is correct for this serial number range according to Jordan & Watt in Colt's Pocket '49. The frame, lever and hammer show much of the original vibrant case-colors. The trigger and some screw heads show the original vibrant nitre blue. The gripstraps have retained virtually all of their original silver finish with natural age darkening. The walnut grips rate excellent with only very minor handling blemishes. The action functions properly with tight lock up and smooth action. Condition of the original mahogany locking case is near excellent with the blue crushed velvet interior intact, the lock working correctly and the corners just slightly proud when closed. The ammo packet is full with excellent graphics, the original pull cord intact having separation along the top exposing some of the cartridges inside. A very fine example of a cased Civil War Pocket '49 with the desirable 6 inch barrel and all the original Colt extras. Antique. Price: $4,995.00 Antique: Yes |
