Description:
General Specs: Marlin, c1901, .30-30, 7lbs. 3oz., LOP 13 5/8"
Serial Number:  214341

Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this special order Marlin Model 1893 rifle. Model 1893s are notable for their distinctive square flush bolt and being the precursor to the Model 36 and 336. This rifle’s top tang has “MODEL 1893” marking, which was phased out in 1905. Guns after that period were marked “93”. This Marlin’s serial number 214341 which places this gun’s production around 1901. This example has a special order 26” half-octagon barrel, half-length magazine tube, and with a beautiful 9.5/10 bore. The barrel retains 50% finish, and the receiver and lever having faded to a pleasant silver. The wood furniture has been restored to a more factory-like condition with previous owners having modified the rifle to fit their needs with sling mounts. All in all, a very clean rifle that spans two centuries and then some!  How many rifles from that era have an excellent bore with strong sharp rifling and no pitting?  Few and far between, and if you are going to shoot the gun (as you should!) it matters. A great choice for the die-hard marlin collectors or someone just looking for a historical piece they can add their name to, either way, a wonderful lever gun which evokes the American Frontier. We at Vintage Firearms invite you to have a look at the detailed specifications and pictures below. Thanks for looking!
