Description:
Burnside Rifle Co. Burnside Carbine, chambered in .54 Cal. Features include: ignition of patented copper or tapered foil cartridge, lever action breech loader rifle, 21 in. round barrel with band, open sights, long trigger, wood straight grip buttstock, lock marked "BURNSIDE RIFLE CO. PROVIDENCE R.I.", breech marked "BURNSIDE'S PATENT, MAR. 25, 1856" and serial number with Foster patented trigger guard latch and catch, re-shaped hammer. This carbine is most likely a 4th model given certain characteristics. The stock shows general wear, scuffs, and dents but no major cracks are present. The hammer is fully operational, giving two clicks going back, and the trigger works properly. The receiver has no finish along with the barrel and there is some small amount of pitting mainly near the saddle ring. The bore is in exceptional condition with extremely strong rifling and very little corrosion. None
