Description:
Listed is a great example of a Colt 1905 which is retaining much of its high luster finish. This example was built in 1911. Early Colt autos came with a high polish, factory finish from their charcoal bluing process with smaller components finished in a nitre blue. Only about 6,200 were made and its rare to find one still maintaining its original factory finish. You do not often see a 1905 in this condition come along for sale. The lower section as well as the right side of the slide still retain much of its finish but the left side of the slide has worn off a bit as well as the hand grip. This pistol comes with the original magazine that on the bottom still has its mirror polish finish. The barrel also still has its original blue finish and the rifling is in great condition. Original hand checkered wood grips and all markings on the slide are legible.
I am more than fair with the price I set all my firearms at. I base my price based on research of the market and the condition of the firearm compared to others. Other 1905s are in much worse condition and yet listed at this same price.
