Description:

Synopsis:

Unusual Chinese arsenal copy of Mauser 1930 Commercial C96 Broomhandle pistol, early variation with fluted rails, with scriptic numbers, "reversed" part matching, misspelled but easily recognized address, and crudely secured grips. Ugh....

Description:

Chinese arsenal copy of Mauser 1930 Commercial C96 Broomhandle pistol with 5.25" barrel, fixed front sight, and slip-in 50-1000 rear sight. Short extractor, two-lug firing pin, universal safety. Three-line Mauser address on top of chamber with Crown/C/U on left chamber flat. Full serial number on left side of barrel extension with scriptic numerals, particularly as concerns the "9" and "6". Mauser banner on the left side of frame; the right side of the frame marked with two-line Mauser address, misspelled but easily recognizable. Matching numbers on bolt, hammer, subframe, and frame taken from the first few digits of the serial number rather than Mauser's custom to use the last few digits. Import marked under barrel. Broadly serrated grips as would have been used for a 1930 Commercial, this set secured with a large screw and nut, no escutcheons.

Condition:

Generously "Good" as buffed and reblued a long time ago, the new blue faded in recesses and frosted under the floorplate and front/back straps. Loose grips with oil stains and losses. Not disassembled. Dark bore with easily discernible rifling. Correct manual mechanics, though universal safety will not function properly as hammer will still contact the firing pin head when put on "safe." NOT SAFE TO SHOOT! NOT SAFE TO SHOOT! NOT SAFE TO SHOOT!
