Weatherby Orion Sporting 12 Gauge Over/Under, 28 inch Barrels,
This Weatherby Orion sporting is a Japanese-made SKB over/under imported by Weatherby, Inc. This gun is much better quality than the Turkish built guns being sold currently, It pairs 28 inch blued, vent-rib barrels and 2 3/4 inch chambers with a brass mid bead and white front bead, providing a clean sighting reference. factory-engraved receiver featuring scrollwork and gold clay pigeon inlays under the reciever.( Special clay target version of the Orion) There are screw-in chokes included, Improved Cylinder, Modified. The gun is as close to "as new" condition as it gets, barely fired, the hindge is still tight. The wood is a beautiful dark walnut with nice marbling and sharp as new checkering. As seen in the pictures, the metal maintains all its bluing, there are no rubs, scratches, dings or cracks, only very very minor handling marks. The only reason I am selling this gun is because I was able to acquire the same gun except it has the silver nitrate reciever, one of them has to go, so Im selling this safe queen. This gun has excellant fit, balance and swings beautifully. Unlike other weatherby Athenas and Orions with flat ribs, this gun has a nicely stepped raised rib sight plane that premotes fast target acquisition, it is a rare and hard to find over and under that is a delight to shoot for all clay target venues and upland hunting.
