Factory original Correct, A pretty scarce Springfield Armory September, 1953 production M1 Garand US Army Service Rifle with the seldom seen JLG cartouche. (Joseph l. Gable) This rifle was shipped as a service grade from the CMP. in 2018. Probably sat in a National Guard Armory for its entire service life. Korean War/Cold War Era Garands such as this are very hard to find in original condition. If you collect Garand rifles this is one that you should have in your holdings. Ask any questions.
