Stenmark, Sweden: A Complete Custom 8x68S Magnum on a Husqvarna Mauser Action with a 24" octagon barrel, Sling eye on the barrel, Leupold scope bases, Model 70 type 3-position wing safety, Adjustable Timney trigger, Hinged floorplate with an outside lever release, Custom bolt handle with 2 panel teardrop checkering, A Classic stock by Stenmark, A nice piece of walnut with excellent contrast and nice color, Ebony forend tip, Shadowline cheekpiece, Wrap around point pattern checkering pattern, 2 screw tiedown sling eye on the buttstock, Nice steel grip cap, Dual cross bolts at the recoil lug & a proper one ahead of the trigger mortise, Excellent inletting that is glass bedded at the recoil lug, 8 lbs. 11 oz., 13 3/4" LOP over a 1" pad, The original blue remains at 93-94%, The original oil stock finish is at 94%, The checkering remains at 99%, The bore is excellent plus. Very few Swedish custom rifles ever come to the U. S. market but this is a very nice gun with nice workmanship. The bottom of the barrel is marked "cal 8x68S Stenmark - 01" & "351109 - 2". The 8x68S is on par with a 338 Win. Mag. and shoots standard 8mm diameter bullets at .323". It is a true belt-less magnum cartridge that was developed by RWS in 1939 and they still offer their loadings with 4 different types of bullets including their famous H-Mantel bullet. It is offered by RWS in 180 to 224 grain bullets.
