Few shotguns represent the golden era of sporting arms like a Belgian Browning Superposed and even fewer exist in .410 bore. This Grade I Superposed, built circa 1968, is a superb example of Browning’s craftsmanship at a time when these guns were still hand finished and tuned for a lifetime of use.
Chambered in .410 gauge and fitted with 26 1/2" ventilated rib barrels choked Skeet / Skeet, this gun embodies the ideal smallbore upland and skeet configuration. The balance is exactly what seasoned Superposed enthusiasts look for lively in the hands without being nervous, and weighing a proper 6 lbs 11 oz, giving it enough substance to maintain a smooth swing while still carrying like a feather in the field.
This shotgun is described as excellent mechanically and cosmetically, with strong original metal finish, well preserved walnut, and excellent bores. It presents as a well cared for example that has seen respectful use rather than hard wear the kind of gun that looks right in a fine collection but is still ready to perform on the range.
The walnut stock is fitted with a round knob semi pistol grip, one of the most desirable Superposed grip profiles, offering both classic aesthetics and fast, natural handling. Stock dimensions are traditional sporting proportions with a 14 1/4" length of pull, 1 1/2" drop at comb, and 2 1/8" drop at heel, making it comfortable for a wide range of shooters.
