Vivid case colors remain on the frame and hammer. Walnut grips feature highly attractive checkered fleur-de-lis with Colt medallions. This revolver is also equipped with a swivel in the butt when originally shipped from the factory. Crisp action functions properly. Serial number manufacture date of 1914. Comes with a factory letter stating the caliber and barrel length and shipped to Iver Johnson Sporting Goods Co. in Boston, MA on May 4, 1914 as the only gun in the shipment. This special order Colt that was custom built and produced very late in the Sheriff's Model run. It has no assembly number on the loading gate as it was a one of a kind special order. This exact revolver is featured on the cover of the included Summer 2000 issue of "The Rampant Colt" magazine. There is a folder full of paperwork and letters about the gun. Under 600 ejector-less Single Action Army revolvers were produced in all calibers from 1882 to the 1930s.
