Founded by Jim Waldorf, the company utilized cheap zinc-alloy (Zamak) construction, focusing on low-income markets through pawn shops. Despite being a top US producer in the early 90s, the brand became notorious for unreliability, mechanical failures, and safety issues, leading to bankruptcy.
