Winchester Model 42 A Robertson Master Engraved Signed Gold Inlaid .410 Ga
The Winchester Model 42 is a pump-action shotgun chambered in .410 bore. This example was manufactured in 1948 and features extensive custom embellishment with gold inlay by engraver A. Robertson. The receiver displays relief gold inlaid hunting dog and bird scenes on both sides, surrounded by detailed scroll engraving. Robertson’s signature, “A. Robertson Engr.,” is located above the ejection port. The barrel is fitted with a Simmons ventilated rib, and the chamber is marked for 3-inch shells with a modified choke designation. Length of pull measures 14 inches.
This Model 42 is used. The finishes remain largely intact with light handling evidence. There is a small chip noted at the right side of the stock head, and the checkering remains crisp throughout.
