On this example, serial number 6281L, manufactured by Erfurt circa 1918, has been professionally restored, and is not a museum piece, so don’t feel bad dropping it in the mud for your trench warfare reenactment! Please note the toggle, take down lever, and sideplates share a serial number which is different than the frame’s.
