Offered for sale is a Walther P38 semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm Luger, manufactured during World War II German military production. This example bears the original German military acceptance markings, including the Waffenamt stamp, consistent with period-correct service pistols issued to the Wehrmacht. There are signs of some pitting in the finish, and some dings on the grips.
The pistol is in good overall condition, showing honest wear consistent with age and military service. The finish retains a solid appearance with expected thinning and handling marks. Grips are intact and properly fitted. Bore shows visible rifling and appears serviceable for its age.
The Walther P38 is historically significant as one of the first widely issued double-action/single-action military pistols, replacing the Luger P08 as Germany’s standard service sidearm during WWII.
