Description: This is a Pre-WWI produced Model of 1905 bayonet manufactured by Springfield Armory dated 1910 in a Model of 1910 R.I.A. woven cotton Duck Cover, side stitched scabbard with the first type thin wire double hook hanger with the brass tube liner dated 1911. In very good to fine used condition the 20 ½" OAL bayonet has a 15 7/8" sharpened blade with 12 inch fullers having a partially bright finish with scattered carbon staining and light pitting. It is marked "U.S. / 454064" on the ricasso with "S A" over Flaming bomb and "1910" date on the reverse. The wood grips rate about excellent with light handling and use marks. The scabbard remains in near excellent condition with sound stitching and some light use marks with some minor flaking of the leather tip which is marked "L.H.D. / R.I.A. / 1911 / H.L.K." on the back.
