Description:
This is a WWI produced M1905 bayonet manufactured by Springfield Armory dated 1917 in a Model of 1910 Brauer Bros. woven cotton Duck tube cover dated 1917. In excellent condition the 20 ½" OAL bayonet has a 15 7/8" sharpened blade with 12 inch fullers retaining virtually all of the original blue finish with very light sheath marks and covered with protective grease. It is marked "U.S. / 706550" on the ricasso with "S A" over Flaming bomb and "1917" date on the reverse. The wood grips rate about excellent with light handling and use marks. The scabbard remains in near excellent condition with mild age staining marked "I N F." on the front and "BRAUER BROS. / 1917" on the leather tip. An excellent example of a WWI M1905 bayonet in a scarce scabbard.
