Winchester Model 1886 standard rifle with factory case colored frame, 38-56 WCF caliber, made in 1894.
26" octagon barrel, excellent shiny bore with deep rifling. Perfect mechanical functions.
Straight grip stock with crescent rifle buttplate.
Lyman rear tang sight, Lyman #5 combination front sight, Lyman 12S filler in barrel dovetail.
96%+ blue on barrel and mag tube. Vivid case colors remaining on receiver/frame, lever, hammer, and forend cap, being more muted on buttplate.
The still bright wood finish does show light handling marks throughout and an area of deeper impressions near point of comb on R side, probably from a scabbord.
A very high condition, all original example of this scarcer configuration and caliber, for the dedicated Winchester collector!
