How Sweet It Is!!! One of the most sought after and unique shotguns, here it is the Browning A5 Sweet Sixteen 16 guage, sporting a famous "Lyman" compensator: affectionately called, "the Pickle"
by today's younger collector, shooter/hunters.
Making its debut way back in 1936, (entering production a year later in 1937), the Sweet Sixteen was a specially lightened 16 gauge Auto-5. The Browning Auto-5 was the first mass-produced semi-automatic shotgun. Designed by John Browning even before the '37 production of the 16, back in 1898. Patented in 1900 and produced continually for almost 100 years until its end in 1998. The shotgun even saw military service
from world war I to Viet Nam.
The Browning Sweet Sixteens popularity lasted from the 1950s thru the 1970s, (with a suprising resurgence of interest today). Its lightweight, iconic Auto-5 action and prized classic styling in beautiful walnut
and engravings, make it a versatile hunting shotgun and highly sought-after collectable. Smooth handling and nostalgic appeal who can resist, yet, with plenty of punch to thrown down a variety game.
