The Colt Python is quite possibly the finest revolver ever made. They have become an investment grade gun with the prices continuing to climb and be the same hand fit and tuned “Rolls Royce” level of gun that they once were. This example serial number T41083, made in 1985, sports a 6″ barrel and retains 99% of its brilliant Colt factory polished stainless steel finish, with the original walnut grips and Colt medallion. This trusty revolver has been out in the world and has a few field marks on the right side of the barrel, however, it has been well taken care of and is in superb condition overall. Cocking the hammer on this revolver is the most satisfying combination of sound and mechanical perfection leading to a SA trigger break of 2lb, DA is likewise smooth. What a delightful gun to shoot targets using the soft shooting .38 Special, then have at your bedside loaded with .357 Magnums for protection. History has shown that Colt’s aspirations have proven correct. With prices of Pythons continuing to climb, getting a foot on the ladder sooner than later is the way to go.
