Description: ***** CABIN FEVER SPECIAL - FREE SHIPPING ***** Marlin Model 39A takedown rifle made in 1941, shoots 22 short, long and long rifle cartridges (25, 20, and 18 rounds respectively). Super scarce Second variation made only in this year (Col. Brophy states no guns were produced 1942-1944 during WWII and 1945 saw the start of the all-blue Third variation) with 24" round barrel, full magazine, plain walnut stocks, flat-bottomed pistol grip with no grip cap, beavertail fore arm, case hardened receiver and lever, blued barrel and mag tube, brass mag tube follower, rounded lever without projection, open sights, serial number B4286, hard rubber butt plate, model designation on barrel, correct blank upper tang with factory drilled/tapped/plugged tang peep sight holes, trademark Bullseye in bottom toe line of butt stock. CONDITION: Barrel retains 85% original bright blue with some spotty flecking beginning throughout that only shows up in bright sunlight. Mag tube retains 95% bright original blue with some light scratching on the bottom. Lever retains 10% original case colors, the rest turned a smoky patina. Receiver retains 80% original case colors with the loss at the bottom front and upper tang due to normal use and aging. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, never sanded or refinished with a multiple scratches, nicks and dings; a long, deeper scratch exists on the bottom of the pistol grip (it is not a crack). Butt plate in good condition with no missing pieces or cracks. Bore is a 9.5 out of 10, mirror bright and shiny no pitting whatsoever. Action is smooth with a properly working half cock safety. Take down is tight with no wobble. Brass feeding tube is a mellow ochre and has never been cleaned; locks up tightly in the mag tube. Original front and rear sights are intact. Correctly has the JM marking on the right side of the barrel at the breech. This is an excellect collector's piece and super hard to find, so don't miss a chance to add this to your collection!
