Description:
Up for sale is an original, early Vietnam-era M2 bipod. If you are looking for a correct, original M2 Bipod to complete your vintage kit, this is the one for you. Surviving Ordnance records and known examples attribute this specific configuration primarily to Harrington & Richardson, which was one of the major M2 component contractors. This one, with very deep stampings, part number 7790688, was made circa 1963-1965. It's all steel, 28 oz., with correct brazing where applicable. It has a hole in front of the word BIPOD as do some of the originals, as does the one in the U.S. Marine Corp National Museum. The markings are US 7790688 BIPOD RIFLE M2.
