Description:
"NSN, circa 1860’s .577, 33" round barrel.  Metal has turned to a dull grey patina with heavy oxidation noted by the bolster. The lock plate is marked “114", this number is also found on the underside of the barrel tang, and on the back of both barrel tangs. It is noted that this type of musket was used by the Kentucky Orphan Brigade and were serial numbered just below 500. A later on added “CSA" is stamped on the left side.  Action is tight and holds at full cock only. Some of these rifles came in through Texas from Mexico in 1863!
