Colt Archive letter included: shipped to Montgomery Ward, Kansas City, MO 8/21/1911. 1 of 4 in shipment.
The first 45 autos made by COLT for commercial sale - RARE and collectable.

Serial number 5802, mfg'd 1911.
Spur hammer
Checkered wood grips with diamonds, worn and small crack left upper grip at escutcheon.
Hand checkered thick spur hammer
Two non original magazines.
Good bore
Markings are clear and legible.
Some fire blue especially on the trigger and hold open.
Does not appear refinished, but little original blue is remaining.
Bore is tarnished with moderate lands and grooves present.
I've shot this pistol with light reloads (not military 230fmj), but have it checked by your gunsmith beforehand.
Markings: verified proof VP, W, 3 and 7.
