Description:
Offered here is a true piece of American military history: a Parker Snow & Co. U.S. Model 1864 percussion rifle musket, manufactured in Meriden, Connecticut under government contract during the final year of the Civil War.

The lockplate is clearly marked “PARKER SNOW & CO / MERIDEN, CT / U.S.” and dated 1864, placing this rifle squarely in the wartime production period. Approximately 15,000 of these contract arms were delivered to the Union Army, making them a desirable and historically significant variant of the Model 1861/1863 musket pattern.

Condition:
This example is in battlefield relic condition with a rich, untouched patina throughout.
- Stock is original with visible age wear and period handling marks.
- Metal surfaces show pitting and patina typical of a 160 year old military rifle.
- Lock functions but full mechanical operation has not been tested.
- Ramrod and rear sight are missing.
- A solid representative Civil War musket for collectors seeking an authentic, unaltered piece.

This rifle presents exceptionally well as a genuine relic of America’s defining conflict and is ideal for display, education, or starter level Civil War arms collecting.
