This is an original 19th century Rolling Block single shot rifle, built in the style of the famous Remington military pattern widely used around the world between the 1860s and early 1900s. These rugged rifles were contracted to dozens of nations and became one of the most successful single shot military arms of the era.
This example shows honest age with a dark patina throughout, worn metal surfaces, and a full length hardwood stock displaying typical wear and handling marks. The breech, hammer, and rolling block components are present, and the action moves, though full mechanical condition has not been evaluated. Rear sight is missing. Barrel appears untouched and heavily worn from decades of storage.
A solid representative Rolling Block rifle in as found condition ideal for decorators, collectors of antique military rifles, or enthusiasts of the Remington rolling block system.
