Fraser, London,” with clear London commercial proofmarks including Crown/GP, Crown/V, provisional proof, and a 25 bore designation placing this musket at approximately .577 caliber. These arms were produced for the mid 19th century export trade and saw widespread circulation across colonial markets, occasionally entering the American South in the pre Civil War period. This example features brass furniture, a complete lock mechanism, and an intact original stock showing expected age wear. The metal retains a uniform aged patina typical of 19th century percussion arms, with no structural defects detracting from display value. The musket remains fully authentic with no modern reproduction components. This is an excellent representative example of a British trade musket and would make a fine addition for collectors, decorators, reenactors, or enthusiasts of early percussion era firearms.
