.36 cal., single action, solid frame, 6 shot unfluted cylinder, base pin inserted from front of frame, 5in. octagon barrel marked “ALLEN & WHEELOCK WORCESTER, MASS. U.S./ALLEN’S PT’S. JAN. 13, DEC. 15, 1857 SEPT .7.1858”, blade front sight, V-notch in frame rear sight, combination trigger guard/loading lever, blue barrel, cylinder, and frame, case colored hammer and trigger guard, walnut square butt grips, center hammer. Mfg. circa 1861-1862. Some estimates state 500 made.
