Description:
This classic damascus barreled Parker hammergun is unfortunately in rather bad shape after over 130 years of use and likely poor storage. Most of the damage of this gun is focused on the barrels, which are rather dented across their length and corroded internally. Most egregiously the right barrel has a crack in the Damascus which goes clear through into the bore and a faint bulge around the area of the crack. This crack likely resulted from either a shell of too high of pressure or from corrosion weakening the steel. The barrel is alco ever so slightly off face, needing tightening to the receiver. Not all is lost for this gun, as the receiver and stock are in surprisingly good condition, with only mild corrosion on the breechface and no significant damage to the stock aside from a ground down buttplate. The crack in the barrel is at 12.5"
