Description:
Serial #K10991, .22 S,L,LR, 24 inch "JM" marked barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is the Marlin 39A lever action rifle 3rd Model which shares features of both the 2nd and 3rd variations having no pistol grip cap with Ballard rifling and was likely a transition model. In excellent condition the barrel, mag tube and frame all show virtually all, 98-99% of the original blue with very minor handling marks and a slight scratch on the barrel just forward of the rear sight. The stock and forearm are excellent with some very minor contusions on the the forearm. The hard rubber butt plate rates excellent. It is sighted with the standard rear and hooded bead front sights. The action functions properly with a tight lock up. A beautiful example of an early 1950's Marlin 39A. FFL or C&R
