Description:
Serial #819169, .30-30 Win, 26 inch Nickel Steel octagon barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is a Model 1894 rifle manufactured by Winchester in 1915 featuring a Lyman combination tang peep sight. The barrel retains virtually all, 96-98% of the original blue showing some minor handling marks with the tube showing just slightly less with some thinning. The Winchester proof on the barrel is quite light, but also other markings are very crisp. The frame and lever show about 45-50% blue having protected areas with bright finish with the balance fading to gray/plum brown. The stock is solid with some light surface marks to the linseed oil finish and to the forearm which has a small carved "x" just below the metal cap. It is equipped with the adjustable sporting rear and blade front sights and the Lyman flip up peep tang sight. Crescent steel butt plate. The action functions smoothly and locks up tight. A fine / very fine Winchester full 1894 rifle. FFL or C&R
