This is the Smith & Wesson Centennial Model 40 revolver featuring a concealed hammer, early flat-latch cylinder release, grip safety and five shot fluted cylinder manufactured between 1957-1966. The gun has the model marking which started in 1957, but also has the upper side plate screw which the book says was deleted in 1955. The metal surfaces show about 90-95% original nickel finish with wear along the high edges and scattered handling marks. The .40" serrated trigger shows muted case-colors and the smooth high-horned walnut S&W medallion grips rate excellent with some light use marks. It functions well mechanically with tight lock up and proper timing. An interesting early Model 40 in desirable nickel finish. FFL or C&R Price: $995.00 |
