Description:
An Early Original Pair Of Civil War 1/6 Plate Tintypes Id'ed To Brothers William R. Laird & John Laird Both From The Illinois 49th Regiment, Co. K In Good Untouched Condition. The photos are fresh out of a very old & large collection and were purchased directly from the family many years ago. Both tintypes are in good condition with one being a little better than the other. John enlisted on 10/9/1861 and was discharged on 9/6/1862. William enlisted on 9/9/1862 & mustered out on 9/9/1865. The main battles of the regiment included Shiloh, Ft. Donelson, Ft. De Russy, Pleasant Hill. & Nashville. The gutta percha case is in very good condition with no damage on it. It Is Very Difficult To Find Photos Of Two Brothers From The Civil War That Were In The Same Company & Regiment. This Pair of Identified Civil War Soldiers Would be A Fine Addition To Any Collection. It Is From A Very Old Civil War Image Collection!
