Description:
General Specs: Colt, 1942, .22LR, 30oz., Barrel 6 5/8"
Serial Number:  157577

The quintessential American rimfire pistol. Designed by John Moses Browning and finalized by Colt’s engineers F. Chadwick and G. Tansley, the Woodsman was first introduced in 1915 and was to be in production in various forms until 1977. The pistol was the first successful semi-automatic .22 rimfire gun to be offered, earlier attempts had been problematic, but Mr. Browning got it right by using an angled magazine to ensure the rimmed cartridge would not ‘rimlock’ onto its predecessor. The Woodsman has remained a favorite with shooters and collectors since its introduction. This example serial number 157577 was manufactured in 1941 and is in superb condition with 98% of its original factory finish with clear roll marks and a mirror bore. There is slight wear at the muzzle. It is fitted with target grips and has it original factory grips included. It has its test target and two magazines. The target trigger is exceptional and breaks cleanly at 3lbs. Thanks for looking!
