Description:
This is a nice example of a Portuguese Model 1867 Socket Bayonet made for the Portuguese copy of the Snider rifle. This can be seen in Paul Kieslings book #673 page 407. The over-all length is 610mm with a 67mm socket. The blade is marked on the ricasso "15" and a mark I can not make out, also marked on the elbow"86_". This example retains most of the bluing on the blade with a thinning on the socket;
