Serial #SI3161, .40-70 Sharps Straight (barrel marked "Cal .40 2 1/2"), 30 inch octagon barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is the Hartford Model 1875 falling block rifle manufactured by C. Sharps Arms Co. in Big Timber, Montana. It features the deluxe long range tang sight, Hartford nosecap and Military style buttstock. In excellent condition the barrel retains virtually all, 98-99% of the original blue finish with very slight handling marks with the receiver, lever, butt plate and hammer showing commensurate amounts of bright case-colors. The action functions properly with a tight lock up the hammer holding at half and full cock releasing with a crisp trigger. The walnut stock and forearm rate excellent with very light handling and storage marks. A beautiful C. Sharps Arms company rifle that will become an instant family heirloom. FFL
