Description:
In the early 20th century as gunmakers were transitioning from Damascus to steel barrels there were buyers who still appreciated the beauty of the Damascus pattern. Parker, in an effort to supply those discriminating buyers, acid etched some of the new Titanic steel barrels with a beautiful Damascus pattern. This was mostly cosmetic and market driven. This gun is an excellent example of that effort. Here is a G grade 2 frame gun equipped with 32” Titanic steel with that Damascus pattern.
The gun, serial number 274842, was manufactured about 1912-13 and remains in very good condition. The finish on the barrels are in excellent condition while the receiver has developed a nice silvery patina. The barrels are chambered for 2 ¾” shells and choked full & full and have a brass front and center bead. The water table is marked Nitro Proof. A later owner, most likely a vintage trap or live bird competitor, had the gun beautifully restocked with special dimensions as well as disabling the safety. See the specifications below.
These guns are rarely seen and would make an ideal addition to any vintager’s gunroom.
