The rib bears the roll mark "J. PURDEY 314 1/2 OXFORD STREET LONDON" and engraved with the numeral '1'. The case color hardened rebounding hammer action body and locks display full coverage English Arabesque scroll engraving with rose bouquets, alongside "PURDEY" on both lockplates and "PURDEY'S PATENT" on bottom. The number "1" is also engraved on the action flats and interior fore-end metalwork. The firearm is equipped with double triggers (front articulated) with smooth blades protected by a blacked, scroll-engraved trigger guard that extends to a long bottom tang, bearing the serial number. The blacked top lever is engraved and marked “PATENT” and is checkered on both sides of the thumb piece.
