The LOEWE BERLIN Chilean Mauser 1895 in 7.62 NATO/.308 Win with a 29.5-inch barrel and 5-round internal magazine is a classic, long-action bolt-action military surplus rifle, originally produced by Ludwig Loewe & Company in Berlin around 1895–1896 for the Chilean Army in 7x57mm Mauser and later converted (often in the 1960s) to the more modern 7.62x51mm NATO/.308 Winchester chambering for continued service or training use. This full-length infantry rifle features controlled-round-feed with a powerful claw extractor, three-position safety, ladder rear sight, straight bolt handle, wooden stock with cleaning rod and bayonet lug, and weighs around 9 pounds unloaded with an overall length of about 48–49 inches.
